Zimboland Safaris is a small, Zimbabwean-owned and run company, specialising in tailormade holidays and safaris around southern Africa. We are based in Harare and are able to offer travellers up-to-date information and support. We are passionate about Africa – its wildlife, beautiful wilderness areas, people, history – a vibrant and fascinating continent. Our safaris are researched and we offer a friendly, professional service to anyone wanting to travel out to our part of the world. There are so many ways to explore Africa – drive, walk, canoe, horse-ride, sail, fly – the choices are yours. Accommodation can range from luxurious lodges to fly-camp tents and everything in between.
Belinda Whitaker started in the safari business 15 years ago. “Firstly working for operators, I spent some happy years canoeing crocodile-infested waters, walking through remote parks, being chased by elephants, stung by tsetse flies.” “For the last 10 years I have been sitting sensibly behind a desk, plotting and planning beautiful safaris to Africa for my clients. We are a family business, with strong support from them, I couldn’t operate without.”
My family arrived in Africa 150 years ago from Europe to start a new life. They struggled up from the Cape colony to the then Southern Rhodesia, in their ox-wagons and long dresses to bravely try find a place to call their home. They outspanned in what is now Zimbabwe and 4 generations later, through many trial and tribulations, we are still happily here!
